I have talked with many of the patients and attendants, examined in to their conditions as well as I could. Q. You have examined with reference to seeing how they were treated and whether they were made comfortable? A. I suppose that was what I was there for and I tried to do my duty. I have made inquiries of the patients how they were treated. Q. You entered on your duties without any prejudices one way or the other? A. I had none that I know of, I had heard some rumours about the hospital, but I had formed no opinion about it. Q. Give the result of your own observation on the matter of management of the asylum. A. I have gone into the halls and looked at the cleanliness of the halls
