On motion of Mr Batcheldon of Litchfield, Ordered, That the Committee on accounts be instructed to inquire into the expediency of repealing an act or any part of an act entitled an act to encourage the destruction of Wolves & Bears approved March 6 1835

The Committee to whom the subject was referred made a statement of facts and reported a Bill & Resolve and the Report was accepted and 300 copies thereof together with the Bill ordered to be printed for the use of the members.

Resolve in favor of John Hodgdon was read once & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a second reading.

The Committee on engrossed Bills reported as truly engrossed Bill - An Act to incorporate the Mount Waldo Stone Quarry Corporation - " to incorporate the Newport Mill Dam and Manufacturing Company which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Higgins of Exeter Ordered that a Committee of two from each County on the part of the House, with such as the Senate may join report to the Legislature what new Banks and increase of Capital of Banks ought to be granted, from among the number now pending before the Legislature and not disposed of - and Messrs Lord of Buxton, Holmes of Alfred, Lyman of Portland, Stone of Brunswick, Sewall of Bath, Rowell of Jefferson, Morgan of Survey [?], Lake of Bucksport, Cram of New Sharon, Scamman of Pittston, Dillingham of Turner, Stanley of Dixfield, Smith of Palmyra, Steward of Anson, Hamlin of Hamden, Shaw of
